2026 Season: PJ Jacobsen’s First Year in MotoAmerica Superbike with Rahal Ducati Moto

2026 was a big step for PJ Jacobsen and Rahal Ducati Moto: the team’s first full-time season in the MotoAmerica Quad Lock Superbike Championship, with PJ riding the No. 15 XPEL Ducati Panigale V4 R.

How we got here

PJ spent 2024 and 2025 in Supersport with Rahal Ducati Moto on the Panigale V2. He won seven races in the team’s debut year and finished second in the championship, then finished second again in 2025 with wins at Road Atlanta, Road America and Mid-Ohio. At COTA in 2025, Graham Rahal announced that PJ would move up to Superbike for 2026.

“The move to Superbike will be a huge opportunity, not only for me but for the entire team,” PJ said at the announcement. (MotoAmerica)

The 2026 season

  • Road Atlanta (opener): a crash in Time Attack Qualifying ended PJ’s weekend early.
  • Road America: second place in Race 2.
  • The Ridge: Superbike pole position.
  • Virginia International Raceway: second place in Race 3, just 0.155 seconds behind the winner.
  • Final standings: sixth in the championship with 152 points.

Not bad for a first year on a brand-new bike in the premier class. Between race weekends, PJ is still coaching. If you want to learn from a MotoAmerica Superbike racer, get in touch.
