2024 Rahal Ducati Season Comes to an End

The 2024 MotoAmerica Supersport season has officially come to a close, and it ended on a high note for the Rahal Ducati Moto team. Just as they started the season, the team claimed victory once again, with PJ Jacobsen crossing the finish line first, Corey Alexander taking third, and Kayla Yaakov securing seventh.

With no pressure and everything to gain, all three riders delivered outstanding performances, rounding off the season with an incredible effort.

As the final round fades into the rearview mirror, Rahal Ducati Moto reflects on the remarkable success of its debut season. Here are some highlights from RDM’s first year:

    PJ Jacobsen

No. 15 XPEL Ducati Panigale V2
    Started: 4th
    Finished: 1st
    Championship Standing: 2nd (331 points)

    PJ’s Thoughts:
“Today was fantastic. Yesterday, we had some struggles with grip and other factors, but I managed to go 1.1 seconds faster today. I felt strong throughout the race. Scholtz was putting pressure on me and even overtook me briefly, but I kept my composure and felt confident—even if he had caught up with the lapped bikes, I could’ve still pushed faster. I’m really happy to finish the season with a win, especially for the team. They’ve worked incredibly hard all year. Ending the season on a high note gives us a short break before we begin preparations for next year. I’m looking forward to starting to test again and having Graham [Rahal] keep things moving forward for us. Huge thanks to the entire team and XPEL.”

High Stakes Drama – Saturday at Circuit Of The Americas 2024

With the Supersport Championship on the line, Saturday’s race at Circuit of The Americas brought plenty of twists for PJ Jacobsen and his closest rival, Mathew Scholtz who is currently leading the Championship points. Neither of the two front-runners managed to reach the podium, shaking up the title race. The race started with intense action as 30 riders charged into the tight turn one hairpin. Scholtz’s Strack Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 bounced off of PJ’s Rahal Ducati Moto Panigale V2 leaving both Scholtz and Cardenas crashed out of the race.

Scholtz managed to get back on his bike and rejoin the race in 30th position, spending the rest of the 11-lap event fighting hard to earn a points finish.

After the dramatic first race, PJ is more determined than ever to make up ground in the Supersport Championship. Finishing fifth allowed him to chip away at Mathew Scholtz’s lead, narrowing the gap to just 14 points. But for Jacobsen, it’s not nearly enough. He knows every point counts, and he’s eager to bounce back in the next day’s race to reclaim even more of the lead.

“Yesterday wasn’t the result we were hoping for,” Jacobsen said. “But I’m feeling confident. We made some good adjustments, and I know the pace is there. Today is a fresh start, and I’m going to give it everything to close that points gap even more.”

With just three races left in the season, Jacobsen is acutely aware of how crucial each race is. He’s determined to push his Rahal Ducati Moto Panigale V2 to its limits, knowing that another strong performance could be the difference between fighting for the championship title or watching it slip away. After battling through the pack on Saturday, he’s even more motivated to put in a clean, fast run in the next race and climb onto the podium.

“The bike feels great, and I know we have what it takes to be up front. I’m ready to get back out there, make the most of every opportunity, and take home more points. It’s all about focus and execution now,” Jacobsen added.

With his sights firmly set on the top step of the podium, PJ Jacobsen is ready to give it his all and make a strong push for the championship. The next race could be a turning point in the battle for the title, and Jacobsen is prepared to leave everything on the track to make sure he’s in the mix.

    We’re Back!

[cs_content][cs_element_section _id=”1″ ][cs_element_layout_row _id=”2″ ][cs_element_layout_column _id=”3″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”4″ ][cs_content_seo]We’re Back!\n\nTytlers Cycle Racing is pleased to announce they will contest both the MotoAmerica Superbike and Stock 1000 Championships, fielding five riders across the two categories. Today’s announcement ensures a brace of BMW machinery on the grid – the team electing to use the BMW M 1000 RR, which was launched in 2021 and has already been a winner on the world stage.

Spearheading the Superbike project are two world-class riders – Hector Barbera and PJ Jacobsen. The pair will race under the Tytlers Cycle Racing banner aboard Alpha Racing-spec BMW M 1000 RR motorcycles. Hector, who raced to an impressive seventh overall in his debut season last year, returns to the MotoAmerica series keen to show his true potential on the latest machinery, while 2022 sees PJ Jacobsen return to the paddock as a full-time rider after working as a rider coach this past year.

Tytlers Cycle Racing has partnered with RideHVMC Racing, enabling them to also run a Stock 1000 program this season dubbed Tytlers Cycle RideHVMC Racing. Representing the team on Alpha Racing-spec BMW M 1000 RR machinery will be Corey Alexander, Travis Wyman, and Zac Schumacher. Corey, who narrowly missed Stock 1000 title glory a year ago lines up alongside Travis, who is a proven race winner in the Stock 1000 class over the past few seasons. Wisconsin native Zac also steps up into MotoAmerica for a full campaign after a frontrunning season in CCS and ASRA competition in 2021. The trio will also take part in the Superbike class aboard their Stock 1000 machines for the full 10 rounds of the MotoAmerica Championship.

PJ Jacobsen: “I want to start off by saying a huge thank you to Michael Kiley and all the people behind this project, also all the people that continue to have faith in me and have pushed my name forward for this project. I took on a different role in my career with coaching last year and have been off the grid, but I’m still young and wanted to come back racing. I believe I have a lot left to show, and I am very hungry and determined and I’m really looking forward to this opportunity and looking forward to seeing what the year brings us. See you at the races.”\n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][cs_element_layout_column _id=”5″ ][cs_element_image _id=”6″ ][/cs_element_layout_column][/cs_element_layout_row][/cs_element_section][/cs_content]
